Update on Dobbyn Creek

SoHumAwareness: Diana Totten:
Update on Dobbyn’s Creek slide, the lake has stayed about the same level for the last 24 hours. Over the week it has dropped about 3 feet. The slide continues to move. We have used a transit and other tools to help us get an idea of what is happening. Probably the most interesting thing for me is that there is no consistency in the movement. Yesterday the sides moved at a rate of 2 inches an hour, 4 feet in 24 hours. With the massive amount of mud and trees, that actually is tons of material. The creek has continued to erode most of this away but at the same time the creek is changing always. The most notable movement today was the center of the slide, I had described it as a large bulge of mud. This bulge has moved 18 inches in the last 4 hours. We will discuss the next step tomorrow. See you then. ~diana April 11 at 7:43pm
