CalFire Asks Public to Stay Away from Spanish Fire Area

The CAL FIRE Humboldt – Del Norte Unit will continue to have suppression resources at the fire to ensure fire lines hold and to conduct mop-up operations. The fire has burned 498 acres of grass with minimal involvement of timberlands. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by both Bureau of Land Management and Cal Fire investigators.

As of July 3rd CAL FIRE has the following fire suppression resources assigned to the fire:

4 – Hand Crews
1 – Fire Engine
2 – Overhead Personnel

As firefighting operations continue over the next few days, CAL FIRE continues to ask the public to stay out of the fire area due to hazards associated with fire. -Estelle
